1) Important prey for Weddell seals (Ainley & Siniff, 2009).

2) Largest recorded Antarctic toothfish was 2.10 meters (6.9 feet) and 120 kg (265 lbs) (Hanchet et al., 2015; Mormede et al., 2014) 
​3) Diet and ecology: Antarctic toothfish feed on smaller fish including: icefish, silverfish, scaly rockcod, rattails, daggertooth, barracudina, and also glacial squid (Hanchet et al., 2015). 
​3) Depth distribution: live up to 2210 meters (7250 feet) (Hanchet et al., 2015).
4) Glycoprotein in their blood that acts as antifreeze (
Nicodemus-Johnson et al., 2011).
5) No swim bladder, instead lots of fat for buoyancy (Metcalf et al., 1999).
